Our latest consumer report examines online behaviour of the mid to high net worth investor, providing a fascinating insight into how investors are now using the internet, not only for researching but for planning and executing their financial requirements.   • The internet is being used by virtually all investors as a financial research tool and has become for many, an important channel for the purchase of a range of financial products
  • There is strong demand for financial planning online and a supply gap is evident
  • Investors are most likely to visit a financial comparison site if they are considering their financial needs online
  • The main barrier to future online financial product purchase is a preference for full financial advice, however supporting telephony goes a long way in removing this barrier
  • Social networking amongst investors is widespread but not yet for financial matters
  • Mobile internet is popular for online banking but just a small proportion are using for longer term financial transactions
  • A large opportunity exists for providers to utilise digital innovation to create engaging customer experiences
